Hereby I want to start the new monthly branch „Man of the Month“.
I will either write about people I personally know or some individuals I find interesting enough to talk about them.
I am glad to start this new line by presenting you my good friend Garry Levin.
I met Garry around 15 years ago on my cousin’s birthday. Back then Garry was a chubby quite kid who nonetheless was talking all day long to the one girl I found attractive. And they seemed to hit it on. Which I hated! Back then I did not know that they had been friends since kindergarten.
That moment full of hate towards Garry was to this day the only time I had negative feelings with him. In 15 years of friendship Garry proved himself to be not only a good friend with whom one can laugh and party well but to be inspiration, support and motivation.
Without knowing he was one of the spirits to motivate me to start this blog.
On a day last summer we met for lunch and he was telling me how excited he was about his new idea. As a professional in the hospitality business he came up with the idea to digitalize the process of hospitality recruiting by combining state of the art algorithms with the seeking of employers and employees. Garry and his team launched their project just a couple months ago. The result is hocaboo, an application working with already over 120 hotels all over the world.
When during that lunch one year ago Garry was telling me about his ideas, he even did not have a business plan yet. However, his sheer confidence and the glance of power in his eyes moved me towards the „start button“ of my blog.
Garry is the perfect example of a man to represent the ideology behind my blog, behind derush.
He embodies manhood, humor, love towards those who deserve it, physical and mental strength and clear goals in life. With only 28 years he already worked with major companies throughout the globe, sustains friendships from his childhood (usually the only real friendships), married a gorgeous girl and is solid as a rock for his family.
Those factors made him the first „Man of the Month“ in my blog (the beard is missing yet, but I will make him grow one soon enough).
Cheers
Max
