I bet the first thing you do when you wake up is to take your phone and check the red number in the upper right corner of all relevant apps.
If I am right then you are wrong when doing it every morning.
Dont you think that it is highly unsatisfying to start a day not by looking at the sun outside or by giving a kiss to your woman or your child but instead by checking absolutely worthless information on a device that was initially invented to better the way of your connectivity?
TURN OFF YOUR DAMN PHONE
Almost nothing can be so important that it couldnt wait for you to at least get out of bed, go to the bathroom and get dressed.
Nowadays nearly every smartphone has the “Do not disturb” function. Turn it on until the moment you leave your home or you get to the table at your home office. Spend the one hour from the moment you get up to the moment you go to work with your family. Share thoughts, talk about your plans or just make some jokes. You never know if you will come home. Is the last words you want to have ever said to your girl “Great, my battery is already below 90%”?!
If you are single and you live alone (I dont remember a time when I actually was single which though did not keep me from enjoying solitude in my four walls) it is just as great as having people around you. Rethink yesterday, set new small goals for today, read a printed newspaper or just think of nothing special, allow your brain to entertain itself, allow a little bit of boredom.
Cheers and derush
